Eleanora Raschke was born on July 14, 1893, to Hulda (Weinkauf) and Gustav J. Conrad in Pipestone County, near Jasper. As a child she moved with her family to the Holland, MN area where she attended school and was confirmed in the Christian faith-Lutheran tradition.

On June 28, 1911, she was united in marriage to Louis Raschke at Holland. They farmed on the Conrad home place near Jasper until 1925 and then moved to a farm near Holland.

In 1943 they retired and moved to Pipestone. Mr. Raschke passed away on August 16, 1960. Mrs. Raschke continued to live in their house until 2 1/2 years ago when she took up residence at the Knute Nelson Memorial Home in Alexandria, MN.

She was presently in the Alexandria hospital where she died on Thursday, April 24, 1980, at the age of 86.

She was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and its ladies organizations.

She is survived by two sons and their wives: Elvin and Leona (Rieck) and Orlen and Esther (Smidt); two daughters: Mrs. Herman Stueven
(Lorna) of Carlos, MN and Mrs. Dean Phelan (Eleanor) of Billings, MT;
20 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Elsie Shackelford of Pipestone; and a brother and his wife Edgar and Elsie Conrad of Jasper, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Arnold Gustav in 1976; and two brothers: an infant in 1898 and Louis in 1957.
