Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9, at the Trinity Christian Church in Bridgewater. The Rev. David Clark will officiate the service. Burial will be in Newlon Grove Cemetery at Cumberland. Open visitation will be 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Steen Funeral Home, 205 W. 5th St., Massena. Memorials may be directed to the Trinity Christian Church or Colonial Manor.
Mrs. Chester, daughter of Julia (Larson) and Peter J. Stender, was born Aug. 10, 1912, in Cass County. On March 8,1940, she married Floyd Chester in Griswold. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Richard (wife Margo) Chester of Massena and Dallas (wife Grace) Chester of Jones, Mich.; two daughters, Eleanor (husband John) Heathman of Toddville and Shirley Chester of Atlantic; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Floyd; daughter Barbara Miller; brothers and sisters, Jamie Stender, Alice Stender, Mabel Boos, John Stender, Arlene Stender and Della Holcomb.
