Funeral services for Claude Guy Ellison, Sr, 67, who died July 28 at Care Inn in Clinton after a lengthy illness, were held July 30 at 3 p.m. from Southern Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial was in Ebenezer Methodist Cemetery with Revs. Leslie Nabors and Howard Allen officiating.
Mr. Ellison, a native of Holmes County, was a retired refrigeration businessman and a veteran of World War II
He was the son of the late Robert Raiford Ellison and Sarah Hester Salley.
Survivors include: t w o sons, Claude Ellison, New Orleans, and James Ellison, Pearl; one daughter, Mrs. Joy Higginbothan, Nashville, Tenn.; three brothers, W.E. Ellison. Heidelberg, James L. Ellison, Gulfport and Lute Ellison, Lexington; f o u r sisters, Mrs. C.C. Legate and Mrs. C.O. Sudbeck, both of Lexington, Mrs. E.C. Sample, Belzoni, and Mrs. J.W. Herring, Gulfport; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Charles Ellison, Edwin Ellison, G.S. "Sonny" Ellison, Robert Allen Legate, Claude Legate and John Raiford Ellison.
