Mrs. Arno Woelfel Matzen, 55, R. 1, New Holstein, died Wednesday at the home of her daughter, at R. 2, Kiel following a short illness.

A lifelong resident of Calumet County, she was born Aug. 4, 1907, at St. Anna, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hoffmann. She attended St. Anna Schools.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, New Holstein, and the Christian Mothers Society.

Following the death of her first husband, she was married on Sept. 30, 1950 to Arno Matzen.

Surviving are her husband; three sons, Alvin Woelfel, New Holstein, Roland and Leroy; daughters, Mrs. Norman (Delores) Schad, R. 2, Kiel, and Miss Shirley Matzen, at home; a brother, Elmer Hoffmann, Seattle, Wash.; a sister, Mrs. Herbert Schroeder, Woodenville, Wash., and 23 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Holy Rosary Church. The Rev. Lambert Scanlon officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.
