Elmer Heimgartner, 68, who farmed on Fix Ridge in the Juliaetta area, died of a massive heart attack at 7:10 P.M. Friday at Deaconess Medical Center at Spokane. He had been ill five days.
Heimgartner was living in the home of his birth at the time of his death, although he had lived on Potlatch Ridge in Nez Perce County for a few years. He was a l934 graduate of Juliaetta High School and he attended the Genesee Community Church.
He was born October 19, 1916, on Fix Ridge, the son of Robert and Bessie Heimgartner, He was married to Lola Lerew at Lewiston September 25, 1937. He enjoyed horse riding, camping and especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife at the Fix Ridge home, three daughters, Jeannine Sather of Joseph, OR., Donna Corkill of Kendrick and Shirley Lindstrom of Osburn, Idaho; four brothers, Leslie, Lawrence, Roy and Wayne Heimgartner, all of Juliaetta; three sisters, Lillie McCall and Laverne Harri, both of Clarkston, and Betty Surbaugh of Othello, Wash. He also left 11 grandchildren and seven great-children. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Heimgartner and Bessie (Hoisington) Heimgartner, and a brother, Everett.
The funeral will be at 2 P.M. Tuesday at Malcom's Brower-Wann Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Roger Herndon of Genesee Community Church officiate. Burial will be at Fix Ridge Cemetery.
Memorial may be given to the Genesee Community Church or Genesee Ambulance Fund.
