Mrs. F. Degner of Rural Janesville Dies
Mrs. Fred (Lydia Louise) Degner, age 75, died Tuesday evening at nine o'clock at her home in Wilton Township. She had been ill two hours and death was attributed to a heart condition.
She was born in Freedom Township on May 30, 1893, to Mr. and Mrs. Michael and Emilie Flemming. She attended the rural schools and since her marriage has been a housewife.
On September 22, 1915, she was married to Fred W. Degner of Vivian Township at the Immanuel Lutheran church in Freedom Township.
She is survived by, a son Elmer at home; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Lorraine) Mock of Mankato; a granddaughter; a brother, Arthur Flemming, and a sister, Minnie Flemming, both of Janesville.
Funeral services will be held Friday at two o'clock at the Freedom Immanuel Lutheran church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call Thursday afternoon and evening and until Friday at 11 a.m. at the Arnoldt Funeral Home in Janesville. She will be taken to the church where she will lie in state from noon until time of services.
Pallbearers will be Lester Flemming, Lyle Flemming, Alvin Glemming, Marvin Flemming, Marvin Degner and Arthur Erdman.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1959; parents; four brothers and two sisters.
