Emilie Flemming died last Wednesday evening, Feb. 19, at 8:30 o'clock at her home in Freedom Township. She had been ill about five months and death was due to a tumor.
Emilie Schunke was born in Germany, Nov. 27, 1865, and was 60 years 2 months and 14 days old at the time of her death. On May 15 1882, she was married in Iosco to Michael Flemming, who died about three years ago. She is survived by seven children, Ben of Freedom, Minnie and Elsie at home, Art in Blue Earth County, Fred of Alton, Mrs. Fred Degner of Wilton and Alvina Kroll of Freedom. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs, John Jeddeloh of Vivian and Mrs. Anne Thom of Portland, Ore., and one brother, Herman Schunke, also of Portland, Oregon.
When she was quite young Mrs. Flemming came to America with her mother, After her marriage, she settled on the farm hone, where she has since resided. The funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at one o'clock in the Freedom church. The pall bearers were Ernest Miller, Emil Brandenburg, Herman Fratzke, Gust Marquardt, Ernest Kelling and Gus Klampe.
Much sympathy is extended the bereaved ones in their loss.
