Philip Funk
Philip Funk, 88, rural Otis, died Thursday, Sept. 1, at the Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend.
Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the United Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Milberger, Rev. Robert Kreier officiating. Burial was in the Milberger Cemetery.
The son of Christian and Anna Margaret (Zinn) Funk was born Jan. 22, 1889, at Hussenbach, Russia. He married Pauline Wagner Oct. 11, 1911, at Milberger. She died June 25, 1948. Mr. Funk had been a resident of rural Otis since 1902. He was a retired rancher and farmer.
Survivors are two sons; Herb of LaCrosse and Rubin of Bison; three daughters, Mrs. Orland (Frieda) Scheuerman, Bison; Miss Amelia Funk of the home; and Mrs. Elmer (Hilda) Maier, Russell; 14 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death besides his wife were two infant children and two sons.
He was a member of the United Emmanuel Lutheran Church at Milberger, to which a memorial was established.
Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home of Hoisington was in charge.
