DYERSVILLE, Iowa - Carl J. Feldmann, 73, of 318 Third St., S.W., Dyersville, died at 3:14 a.m. Monday, April 14, 2003, at home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, with the Rev. Edward Petty officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Worthington, where military rites will be accorded by the Dyersville American Legion Post 137. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a Catholic Order of Foresters rosary at 4 p.m., a wake service at 7 p.m., and a Dyersville American Legion service at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Feldmann farmed in the Worthington area until 1976. He then was employed at Cuckler Mfg. in Monticello, and later drove for Victory Ford in Dyersville. He was born on Nov. 11, 1929, in Worthington, son of Charles and Irene (Kelchen) Feldmann. He married Imogene Bries on Sept. 14, 1954, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Luxemburg. He was a graduate of the former St. Paul's School in Worthington. He was an Army veteran, having served as a corporal. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Parish, Dyersville, the Dyersville American Legion-Post 137, and the Worthington Catholic Order of Foresters Court 607. Surviving are his wife, Imogene Feldmann, of Dyersville; six sons, Dennis Feldmann, of Vinton, David (Beth) Feldmann, of Urbana, Dean (Mary Jo) Feldmann, of Keystone, Carl G. Feldmann, of Dyersville, and Charles Feldmann and Duane (Cathy) Feldmann, both of Waterloo; four daughters, Carlyn (Chester) DeFlieger, Cheryl (David) Klostermann, Joyce (Dennis "Fuzzy") Deutmeyer and Karen (Gerald) Hoffmann, all of Dyersville; 18 grandchildren; three brothers, Leonard (Caroline) Feldmann, of Cuba City, Wis., Thomas (Grace) Feldmann, of Worthington, and Delmar (Mary Lou) Feldmann, of Westfield, Ind.; a sister, Lucille (Aloysius) Vonderhaar, of Luxemburg; four sisters-in-law, Rose Feldmann, of Monticello, Margaret (Clarence) Lehman, of Farley, Mary Feldmann, of Dyersville, and Rosella Feldmann, of Worthington; and a brother-in-law, Charles Meyer, of Holy Cross. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Marie Hall Streif and Rita Meyer; and six brothers, Raymond, Andrew, Lawrence, Leo, Donald and Francis. A Carl J. Feldmann Memorial Fund has been established. The family of Carl would like to thank the Mercy Medical Center-Dyersville staff, Dr. Miner and his staff, Dr. Snyder and his staff and Hospice of Dubuque for all the wonderful care given to Carl.
