MONTICELLO, Iowa - Francis J. Feldmann, 77, of Monticello, formerly of Hopkinton and Worthington, left this world to be with his Lord on Sunday evening, Sept. 9, 2001, at home in the arms of his loving wife, Rose, after a brief battle with cancer. Services will be at noon Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Monticello, with the Monsignor Neil Tobin officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Worthington, at a later date. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Kramer Funeral Home, Monticello, where there will be a Catholic Order of Foresters rosary at 6 p.m., and a parish scripture service at 8 p.m. She was born on April 28, 1924, son of Charles and Irene (Kelchen) Feldmann, near Hopkinton. He married Rose Vivian Eichacker on Aug. 20, 1946, in Holy Cross. Together they farmed their entire married life on Rolling View Acres farm in rural Hopkinton, until they moved to Monticello in 1998. He was a former 4-H leader in Dubuque and Delaware counties; a lifelong member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, St. Francis Court 407 of Worthington; a member of the District II Guernsey Association; and a former Delaware County Fair Board member for 11 years. He enjoyed the hobbies of furniture building, fretwork and clock building. Surviving are his wife, Rose; four sons, Richard (Sandy), of Spring, Texas, Ronald (Betty), of Worthington, and Robert and Randy (Carmela), both of Hopkinton; 15 grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; four brothers, Carl (Imogene), of Dyersville, Leonard (Caroline), of Cuba City, Wis., Tom (Grace), of Worthington, and Delmar (Mary Lou), of Westfield, Ind.; two sisters, Lucille (Aloysius) Vonderhaar; of Luxemburg, and Rita Mae (Charles) Meyer, of Holy Cross; and three sisters-in-law, Marjorie Feldmann Lehmann, of Farley, Rosella Feldmann, of Worthington, and Mary Feldmann, of Hopkinton. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Raymond, Andrew, Leo, Lawrence and Donald; a sister, Marie; a step-granddaughter; and a step-great-grandson. The family requests no flowers. A Francis Feldmann Memorial Fund has been established.
