HOPKINTON, Iowa - Services for Lawrence Feldmann, 61, of rural Hopkinton, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Luke's Catholic Church, Hopkinton. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Worthington, where military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post 137 of Dyersville. Friends may call after 1 p.m. today at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a parish scripture service at 8 p.m. Mr. Feldmann was born on Sept. 5, 1934, in Worthington, son of Charles and Irene (Kelchen) Feldmann. He died Thursday, April 18, 1996, at Delaware County Memorial Hospital, Manchester. He married Mary Catherine Schmidt on April 21, 1959, in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Cascade. Together they farmed in the Hopkinton area. Lawrence was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, where he served as vice chief ranger. He was a past board member of the Swiss Valley Ag-Service and was a veteran. Lawrence was an avid conservationist and nature lover, and had a great sense of humor. He was known for his love of his wife, children and especially grandchildren and a great friend, Bill W. Surviving are his wife, Mary; two daughters, Lynn (Bart) Osterhaus, of Dyersville, and Pam Feldmann, at home; three sons, Marv Feldmann, of Bloomington, Ill., Bud "Loras" (Vickie Wedewer) Feldmann, of Dyersville, and John (Tammy Hess) Feldmann, of Dubuque; six grandchildren, Gary and Jessica Feldmann, of Monticello, Jill Osterhaus and Kelsey and Leah Feldmann, all of Dyersville, and Samuel Feldmann and a sibling expected in August, of Dubuque; his mother-in-law, Catherine Schmidt, of Cascade; two sisters, Lucille (Al) Vonderhaar, of Luxemburg, and Rita (Charles) Meyer, of Holy Cross; six brothers, Francis (Rose) Feldmann, of Hopkinton, Carl (Imogene) Feldmann, of Dyersville, Andrew (Marge) Feldmann, of Farley, Leonard (Caroline) Feldmann, of Darlington, Wis., Tom (Grace) Feldmann, of Worthington, and Delmar (Mary Lou) Feldmann, of Westfield, Ind. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Marie; and three brothers, Raymond, Leo and Donald.
