Herman Meier was born to Fred and Eva (Wassenmiller) Meier on Dec. 13, 1898 in Lehigh, KS and came to Oklahoma at the age of three years.

In 1925 he was united in marriage to Miss Dean Hall and to this union there was born one child, Billy, age 18. Herman was a devoted husband and father. Herman led a quiet life having the esteem and respect of many friends. He was a member of the Christian Church. Herman died Mar. 4, 1948 after a prolonged illness, leaving to mourn his faithful wife and son; his mother, Mrs. Fred Meier, sisters, Miss Ophelia Meier, Mrs. Henry (Mollie)Meier, Mrs. Jake G. (Ruth) Ehrlich, and Mrs. Adam A. (Leah) Kerbs, and brothers Alvin, Jacob, and Alex W. all of Shattuck; Fred F. of Follett, TX and Mrs. Holt (Olinda) Karst of Bremerton, WA.

Services were held Sunday March 7, at the First Christian Church with Brother Francis Arant of OK City conducting the services. Burial in the Shattuck Memorial Cemetery aka I.O.O.F Lodge #303 Cemetery, Sec. 28 Twp 21 R25, located on the south side of Shattuck, OK along Hwy 283 with Mason's Funeral Home in charge.
