Mollie Meier, daughter of Fred and Eva (Wassenmiller) Meier, was born Feb. 19, 1894 in Lehigh, KS. She with her parents made the run in the Oklahoma Strip. They homesteaded south of Shattuck where she grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage to Henry Meier who preceded her in death in 1966. She was a member of the First Church of God in Gage. They had no children of their own, but raised Mollie's cousin Leah Wassenmiller as a foster daughter after they arrived from Russia in Nov. 1922.
Mollie died 14 Feb 1981 at the Convalescent Center where she had been living for the last six years.
She is survived by Mrs. Leah Kraft and her husband Rev. Merlin Kraft and grandchildren, Rev. John T. Kraft of Wichita, KS; Mark Kraft of Portland, OR; Rhonda Kraft of Wichita, and Mrs. Don (Rhoda) Coffman of ElDorado, KS; and great grandchildren: Steve, Rebecca, and Adam. Also 3 sisters: Mrs. Holt (Olinda) Karst of Bremerton, WA, Mrs. Joe (Ophelia) Fischer, and Mrs. Jake G. (Ruth) Ehrlich.
Services were held in the First Church of God with Rev. Merlin Kraft, pastor of the church, officiating and his children participating. She was buried in Shattuck Memorial Cemetery, Shattuck, OK
