Al L Hutmacher passed away about 9 o'clock Sunday night, January 27, 1940 at St Anthony's Hospital at Effingham, Illinois, a week after he had been taken there suffering with a severe head injury sustained when he is reported to have slipped and fell on a sleet-covered tender as he was coaling an engine at the I. C. Coal Chutes west of Effingham, Illinois, during a snowstorm. He never fully regained consciousness following the accident.

Mr Hutmacher, who was born Aug. 24, 1896, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs Nicholas Hutmacher of Dieterich, Illinois,
he was 49 years, 5 months and 3 days of age at the time of his death.

Besides his wife Katherine, he is survived by three daughters, namely: Mrs. Charles (Malinda) Barrel, Mrs Norbert (Virginia) Buening and Mrs. Edward (Irene) Lau, all of Effingham, Illinois; one granddaughter: Barbara Jean Burrell; four sisters: Mrs. Jos. Lustig, Mrs. Lawrence Lustig, Mrs. Dorothy Gulp and Mrs Louis Buennemeyer, all of Effingham, Illinois; six brothers: Louis and Ed of Dieterich, Illinois; Frank of Effingham, Illinois; Leo of Decatur, Illinois; William and Joseph of South Dakota; besides a host of other relatives and friends.

The remains lay in state at the family home at 322 St Louis St At Effingham, Illinois, until time for the funeral services which are being held this Thursday morning at 10 o'clock at St, Anthony's Church at Effingham, Illinois, in the form of a Requiem High Mass. Interment will be made in the parish cemetery there.

This paper extends its sincere sympathy to the sorrowing relatives of Mr. Hutmacher.
