NICK HUTMACHER DIED SUNDAY MORNING
Nick Hutmacher, 73 years old, a highly respected citizen of Dieterich, passed away at St Anthony Hospital in Effingham shortly after midnight Sunday morning. The cause of death was a heart attack. He had been suffering with heart trouble for several months.
Mr. Hutmacher had resided in Dieterich since his marriage fifty-four years ago with the exception of two or three years when he lived on a farm. He operated a brick yard here, making brick by hand from which several of our buildings were erected, later he built a modern brick factory that he operated for several years, being active in the business himself. Because of ill health, he has not been able to do very much the past few years. His wife preceded him in death several months ago and one son, Arthur also died several years ago.
He leaves to mourn his death, seven sons and four daughters, Louis, Edward and Laverne of Dieterich; Frank and Allie of Effingham; Joseph and William of South Dakota, Mrs J. M. (Tillie) Lustig, Mrs Lawrence (Arrieta) Lustig and Mrs Louis (Lucille), Buennemeyer of Effingham, and Mrs Dorothy Culp at Dieterich, forty-one grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was a son of the late Peter Joseph and Anna Marie Hauben Hutmacher and was the last living one of that family.
Funeral services were conducted at the Immaculate Conception in Dieterich Tuesday morning at 9:00 o'clock, with burial in the parish Cemetery. Rev Fr. Robinson officiating.
