RUSSELL - Katherine "Katie" Miller, 89, died Friday, Nov. 15, 1996, in the Shawnee Regional Hospital, Shawnee. She was born Sept. 29, 1907, in Russell to Fredrick and Eva Elizabeth (Kraft) Riffel. She married Benjamin MILLER on March 30, 1934, in Russell. He died Jan. 30, 1973. She was a lifetime resident of the Russell Community, working most of her lifeas a waitress for the Driscoll and Holland Hotel Restaurants. After retirement, she worked for several years at the Russell City Library. She was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church, Russell.

Survivors include a brother, Jake Riffel, Russell; two sisters, Amelia Dougherty, Russell, and Mary Barnes, Junction City. She was preceded in death by three brothers, David, Alex and Emanuel Riffel, and two sisters, Mollie Ebel and Eva Riffel.

Services are at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the St. John Lutheran Church, Russell, with the Rev. Henry Hartman officiating; burial in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Russell.
