Arthur Charles "Bud" Mangelsdorf, 84, Prairie Village, passed away Thursday, July 29, 2004, at his home. He was born Oct 14, 1919, the son of Wilhelm Friedrich Mangelsdorf and Blanche Eola Scamell Mangelsdorf, of Atchison.

Bud graduated from Kansas State College of Agriculture & Applied Science, Manhattan, Kansas, on May 26, 1941. On June 8, 1947, Bud married Doris Irene Baber at Wornell Baptist Church, Kansas City, Missouri. After graduating, Bud worked at Rudy-Patrick Seed Company, Kansas City, Missouri, until he retired.

Survivors are his wife of 57 years, Doris, of the home; two sisters, Constance Menze, St. Paul, Minn., and Frances Seeber, Conifer, Colo.; a sister-in-law, Blanche Mangelsdorf, Lawrence; four daughters; and six grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents; a sister, Mildred Bell, Shawnee Mission; and two brothers, Frederick Mangelsdorf, Atchison, and Eugene Mangelsdorf, Kansas City.
