Robert Bittner, 66, of Route 2, Chilton, died suddenly at the Calumet Memorial Hospital in Chilton Monday.

He was born Aug. 9, 1883 in the town of Chilton, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bittner. He was a farmer and for the past 15 years was a glazer at the Chilton Mill Works Co.

He was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church in Chilton, its Holy Name Society, the St. Joseph Society, the Catholic Order of Foresters and the Eagles.

He married Theresa Kocher Sept. 24, 1924 at St. Mary’s Church in Chilton.

Survivors are his wife; one son, Clarence of Reedsburg; three daughters, Mrs. Fredrick (Dorothy) Schnell of Route 1, Valders, Mrs. D. J. (Irene) Smith of Englewood, Calif., and Miss Alice, at home; eight grandchildren; one brother, John of Chilton and one sister, Sr. M. Armella of the Notre Dame Sisters Convent at Mankato, Minn.

He was preceded in death by two sons, two sisters, and one brother.

Funeral services will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Raymond Conard celebrating the requiem high Mass. Burial will in the church cemetery.
