Helen graduated from Osceola High in 1928 and then from St. Vincent's Hospital in 1931. She went on to take courses at the Presbyterian Hospital in New York City.



The third child and second daughter of Joseph W. Riley and Agnes Hughes.

OSCEOLA MILLS

A wedding of Much interest to residents here took place on Saturday morning, July 25, 1936 at 9 o'clock at the Saint Joseph's Catholic Church of Erie when Miss Helen Riley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Riley of Osceola Mill, became the bride of Francis Kloecker, son of Mrs. Catherine Kloecker of Erie. Reverend Father Edward J. Fisher officiated at the Nuptial High Mass, assisted by Reverend Frank Kaltenback, Father Joseph Hakel and Father Philip Hermann. Music in the church was presented by Louis Krahe, solist and Mrs. Arthur Men, organist. The bride wore a gown of white satin, made in Princess style, with a lace stand-up color, tight fitting sleeves and inserts of lace over the shoulder and in the long train. Her fingertip veil of tulle was arranged in halo style. She carried a bouquet of yellow roses and gypsophelia. Miss Mary Riley of Osceola Mills was the maid of honor and Marguerite Mentz and Anne Marie Matheis were flower girls. Bernard Kloecker served as best man, While Roman Kloecker of Erie and F.F. Beezer of Philipsburg served as ushers. The maid-of-honor wore a floor length gown of pink chiffon and blue accessories and carried a bouquet of talisman roses and gyposphelia. Dinner for the members of the bridal party was served at Johnny Knoll's Tavern at Harborcrest, followed by a reception at the Hunter's Lodge. The bride a well known and accomplished young lady is a graduate of the Osceola High School, Class of 28 and the Saint Vincent's Hospital, Erie, class of 31. The bride groom is a graduate of the Cathedral Preparatory School, Erie and is now engaged in the undertaking business.The happy couple will reside in Erie. Their many friends here join in wishing them much happiness in their married life.

Helen I. Riley Kloecker, 852508 Sassafras St., died Wednesday afternoon, March 26, 1997, at her residence. She was born in Osceola Mills, PA., on July 25, 1911, daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes Hughes Riley. She came to Erie in 1930 and enrolled at Saint Vincent Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1933. She worked at Saint Vincent Hospital in the emergency room until her marriage in 1936 to funeral director Francis V. Kloecker St., who died Dec. 16, 1981. She was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, the Rosary Society and Catholic Women's Union. She was a rosary leader at morning mass. She was a member of Saint Vincent Health Center Nurses Alumnae and St. Mary's Home Auxiliary. As she raised her family, she was a member of St. Joseph PTO and Villa and Prep parents associations. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Lt. Clare Riley, RN, U.S. Army Nurse Corps, Mrs. F. J. (Mary) Beezer and Mrs. Lisle (Catherine) Britten; a brother, Air Force Lt. Col. James R. Riley, a grandson, James Patrick Kloecker Jr.; and one great grandson, Dominic Francis Pinciotti.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Russell (Mary Agnes) Mosher of Chantilly, Va., Mrs. Edward (Rita) Amicucci of Warren, Ohio, Mrs. William (Catherine) Swanson of Bethesda, Md., and Mrs. Ricardo (Eileen) Perino of Erie; three sons, Francis V. Kloecker Jr., and his wife, Renee, Joseph W. Kloecker and his wife, Jean and J. Patrick Kloecker and his wife, Cathy, all of Erie; a sister, Mrs., Jack (Betty) McAndrew of Erie, 31 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, an aunt and many nieces and nephews.Friends may call at the Francis V. Kloecker Funeral Home, West 25th and Sassafras streets, on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.. There will be no visiting hours on Easter Sunday. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Father Samuel J. Houpt Memorial School Fund of St. Joseph Church, 147 W. 24th St., Erie, Pa 16502; or the Saint Vincent Health Center Nurses Scholarship Endowment Fund, 232 W. 25th St., Erie, Pa 16544
