Funeral services for Albert Wechorek, 86, will be held at St. John's Catholic Church at 9 AM Thursday, and burial will take place in Hillside Cemetery (actually Gate of Heaven). The body is at the Rembs funeral home, where a combined rosary service will be held at 8 o'clock tonight.
Mr. Wechorek died of pneumonia at St. Joseph hospital, where he had been a patient since May 7. He had been active up to the time of his final illness. His home was at 114 N. Maple St.
Born in Germany (Poland) on January 10, 1861. Mr. Wechorek came to the United States when he was 18, lived for a time at Manistee, Michigan, and had been a resident of Marshfield community for about 50 years.
Formerly a farmer, he operated a grocery store on N. Central Ave. for about twelve years prior to his retirement from twelve years ago. His wife, the former Mary Martin (Wieczorek), died twelve years ago.
Surviving are five children, Martin (Mechorek}, Fond du Lac; Edward (Mechoreh), St. Louis; Miss Betty Wechorek (McCork) and Mrs. Lucille (William) Scannell, Chicago; and Mrs. Mary (Otto) Sonnefeld, Saginaw, Michigan; twelve grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Amelia (Michael) Betka, Saginaw Michigan.
A son, John and three daughters, Julia, Gertrude, and Rose, preceded him in death.
He was a member of the Holy Name Society which will participate in the rosary.
