NIEMERG - REPKING

Philip Niemerg, son of Mrs Henry Niemerg and Miss Marie Repking, winsome daughter of Mr and Mrs John Repking, all of Bishop Creek, were joined in Holy Wedlock at St Aloys Church, Bishop Creek, Tuesday, October 8, 1929 at the nuptial mass at 9 o'clock.

Alphonse Niemerg, brother of the room and Miss Elsie Repking, sister of the bride, were the witnesses. Rev Father Simon Schwarz, OFM, pastor, officiated.

An all day old-fashioned wedding feast was held at the home of the bride's parents, to which a large number of relatives and neighbors had been invited. The newly weds accepted complacently the congratulations of the guests and the bride received a number of useful presents for which she expressed hearty thanks.

In the evening, all enjoyed the old fantastic to their fullest extent on a temporary platform.

The young couple will reside at Chicago where the groom has employment.

The Press extends congratulations to the newlyweds.

---------

Marie would spend most summers with her visiting her parents on their farm. Twice a week, she would assist her Mother in baking fresh bread in the wood burning stove. When her brothers were working in the fields, they would pack a snack of fresh baked bread spread with home made butter and canned blackberry jelly and have one of Marie's children deliver it to the workers.

In July, she would go into the fields to pick blackberries for the jelly. Her brothers would go too, but they would use their berries to make blackberry wine.
