A Repking dies July 30

Albert J. Repking, 84. of Dieterich died at 11:50 AM Tuesday July 30, 1996 at St Anthony's Memorial Hospital, Effingham. Funeral services were held at 10:30 AM Friday at St Aloysius, Bishop Creek, with burial in the Church Cemetery. Visitation was held from 4 to 8 PM Thursday at the Church, with a 6:30 Knights of Columbus rosary and a 7:30 PM parish wake service. Memorials may be made to the Donor choice. Bauer Funeral Home, Effingham, was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Repking was born on May 1, 1912, in Effingham County, the son of John and Rosa (Schleper) Repking. He married Agnes Wente in 1953. She died May 16, 1996.

He was a retired farmer; life member of St Aloysius Catholic Church, Bishop; member of St Aloysius Men's Sodality, Teutopolis Knights of Columbus, third degree 2984 and fourth degree 0196.

Survivors include his brother William of Effingham; and sister, Elsie Osthoff of rural Effingham. He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Seventeen members of the fourth degree of Teutopolis Knights of Columbus were present for the honor guard and rosary ceremonies for Albert Repking. Albert died July 30 and was born on May 12, 1912. He was 84 years old. A chalice and paten were donated and presented to the Repking family by the Faithful Navigator, Leonard Bierman [Note: Leonard is the brother of Louise Bierman Repking, the wife of Albert's twin brother Ralph] and comptroller, Jim Buford. The chalice will be given to any priest or mission anywhere in the world to be used at the celebration of mass.

Albert left his estate to be shared equally between St Aloysius and the Sisters of the Precious Blood in Rama, the order which his Aunt had joined and of which she became head.
