HABING - REPKING

Mr Herman Habing and Miss Clara Repking were married at St Aloys Catholic Church Bishop, Tues morning at 8 o'clock. Mr John Habing, brother of the groom and Miss Marie Repking, sister of the bride were the subscribing witnesses. Rev Fr Wo1fgang Kraus, OFM pastor of said Church officiated.

After the Church ceremony an all day wedding feast was held at the home of the brides parents to which the Reverend Pastor the, near relatives and neighbors had been invited. In the evening the young folks enjoyed an old fashioned barn-dance for a few hours much to the amusement of the older folks

The groom, Mr Herman Habing is the second oldest son of Mr and Mrs Henry Habing Sr, (nee Kerner) of near Bishop a young man of sterling qualities and strong character and the b1ushing bride is the second oldest daughter of Mr and Mrs John Repking (nee Schleper) also of Bishop, ranking high in Church and social circles and having all the qualifications of making a good housewife and life's companion.

The newly weds will make their home in the old Habing's homestead a little southwest of St Aloys Catholic Church

Mr and Mrs Henry Habing, parents of the Newly weds, daughter, Kathryn and son, John will move to Teutopolis in the old Kerner property which Mr Habing owns, in a week or so. We bid you welcome Mr Habing and family.

In 1939, her Uncle, Joseph Westendorf, lived with her family in Effingham. He was a retired farmer and worked as a carpenter with her husband, Herman.

Effingham, Douglas, Effingham, Illinois, USA, Mrs Herman (Clara C. Repking; Habing, 84, of Effingham died at 1: 30 pm Sunday, Oct. 23, 1988, at Van Dyke Convalescent Center, Effingham. The funeral will be at 10 am Wednesday at St Anthony Catholic Church, Effingham, with burial in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Tuesday at Bauer Funeral Home, Effingham, with a combined Catholic Daughters of the Americas and sodality rosary at 4: 30 pm, followed immediately by a memorial service and a 7: 30 pm parish wake service. Memorials may be made to St Anthony schools.

Mrs Habing was born May 26, 1904, in Effingham County, the daughter of John and Rose (Schleper) Repking. She married Herman Habing in 1924. He died in 1966.

She was a member of St Anthony Catholic Church, . St Ann's Altar Sodality, Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the 3rd Order of St Francis.

Surviving are her daughters, Mrs Don (Geraldine) Miller, Mrs Francis (Janet) Flach and Mrs Ambrose (Norma) Worman, all of Effingham, Mrs Richard (Paulette) Zimmerman of Watson, Mrs Melvin (Elaine) Sieben of Dyer, Ind., Sister Barbara Margaret Habing, SSND of Belleville, Mr Dennis (Marilyn) Noonan of Decatur. Mrs Joe (Ruth) Swingler of Sigel; brothers, William Repking of Teutopolis, Albert Repking of Dieterich; sister, Mrs Robert (Elsie) Osthoff of Effingham; 34 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, two daughters and three brothers.
