Elsie C Osthoff, 93, of Effingham died at 8:10 pm Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003, at St Anthony's Memorial Hospital, Effingham.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Effingham with burial in St Anthony Cemetery, Effingham. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm today at Bauer Funeral Home, Effingham, with a 6 pm parish wake service. Memorials may be made to St Anthony School Building Fund or Sacred Heart School, Effingham.
Mrs Osthoff was born Sept. 7. 1909. in rural Dieterich (Bishop Creek), the daughter of John and Rosa (Schleper) Repking. She married Robert Osthoff on Aug 9, 1938. He (died in 1991.
She a was homemaker: member of St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church St Anthony Council of Catholic Women and Catholic Daughters of the Americas, all of Effingham: and was a member of local ladies' pinochle group for more than 30 years,
Surviving are her daughters, Carolyn (husband, Jim) Bowlin of Mason, Barbara (husband, Mike) Walk of Sigel, Evelyn (husband, Ted) Thies of Greenville, Cathy, (husband, Tom) Mulligan of Decatur; Brother-in-law Tony Osthoff of Effingham who resided with her; 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: one daughter, three grandchildren; six brothers; and two sisters.
