He had apparently been in good health up to the day of his death, but he complained of not feeling well shortly before leaving the house to go out in the farmyard. Worried by his failure to return, his wife went out to look for him and found his body. An examination by physicians determined that his death had been caused by a heart affliction.
Samuel Wacker was born at Culbertson on June 3, 1892 and except for brief periods of residence at Hardin, Montana and McCook, Nebraska had lived in this community all of the 49 years of his life. Farming had always been his vocation.
On November 19, 1912 he was united in marriage to Miss Sarah Wagner of Culbertson and three sons were born to this union. These sons are Wayne of Madison, Wisconsin; Wilbert of Cleveland, Ohio; and Roland of Chicago. This union was broken by the death of the mother four years ago, on March 18, 1936.
Mr. Wacker was married a second time on April 28, 1937 to Mrs. Opal Adamson of McCook, Nebraska.
He leaves to mourn his passing his widow, Mrs. Opal Wacker; his three sons, Wayne, Wilbert, and Roland, four step-children, Violet, Vilas, Florence, and Lloyd Adamson; and four sisters, Mrs. Lydia Spahn; Mrs. Elizabeth Fahrenbruch; Mrs. Esther Huber; and Mrs. Clara Wagner, all of Culbertson, besides many other relatives.
The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon in Zion Evangelical church, of which deceased had been a member since 1913. Services were conducted by Rev. H.A. Norenberg, and burial was in the Culbertson cemetery.
