Margaret Korb was born August 22, 1913 at home on the family farm southwest of Colome, SD. She was the sixth of seven children born to Henry and Magdalena Korb. Margaret's father died when she was six years of age, and after his death Margaret and her siblings helped their mother with farm work. She attended Central School near her home and the German Congregational Church near Millboro, SD.
Margaret was united in marriage to Norman Meyer on June 3, 1948 at Union Congregational Church in Gregory, SD. Margaret and Norman made their home on a farm near Clearfield, SD, where Margaret lived until her death in 2002.
Margaret and Norman were active members of Star Prairie Baptist Church, where Margaret served as church pianist. When the church closed in 1984, they became members of Carter Gospel Fellowship. Margaret taught piano lessons and was involved in neighborhood Bible studies and Star Prairie Gals Extension Club. She enjoyed raising flowers, knitting and crocheting. She loved people and loved to open her home to family and friends. Norman and Margaret celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1998.
She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings. Survivors include two daughters and three grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Carter Gospel Fellowship Church in Carter, SD, with Pastor Les Canfield officiating.
