Theodore Korb was born to Henry and Magdalena (Wetzler) Korb on June 30, 1900, at Naper, NE. His parents moved their family to a homestead southwest of Colome, S.D. in 1910. Ted attended rural school in Tripp County and at the age of 15 was confirmed in the German Congregational Church at Carlock.

When Ted was 20 his father died and Ted and his mother took over the responsibilities of the farm. Ted also helped raise his brothers and sisters. His father had purchased one of the first tractors in Dog Ear township, which Ted used for threshing in the Sunshine Threshing Company that he was part of for several years.

Ted was united in marriage to Martha Klein on February 14, 1948. Ted and Martha were members of Star Prairie Baptist Church of Clearfield and later Witten Baptist Church. Ted served many years on the school and telephone boards and for several years was a timekeeper for the local WPA project.

In 1967 the Korbs sold their farm and moved to Winner where Ted resided until his death on September 8, 1987. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Martha; an infant brother; his brother Henry of Sioux City, Iowa, and his sister Clara Zimbelman of Hamill. Survivors include his brothers, Gottlieb of Gregory and Alfred of Winner; his sisters, Frieda Giske of Gregory and Margaret Meyer of Clearfield; 11 nephews; 14 nieces and a host of other relatives.

Funeral services were held September 11, 1987 at First Baptist Church in Winner with Rev. Al Cole officiating. Burial was in the Highland Cemetery at Fairfax.
