Henry was united in marriage to Frieda Koch on June 1, 1938 at St. John's Congregational Church near Carlock, South Dakota. They made their home on farms near Clearfield and Gregory, South Dakota before moving to Sioux City, Iowa in 1945. Henry was employed by Great Lakes Pipeline Company at the time of his death. He died at home following an illness of several months.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife; a son and two daughters; three brothers, Theodore, Gottlieb and Alfred; and three sisters, Clara Zimbelmann, Frieda Giske, and Margaret Meyer. Funeral services on March 3, 1949 at Union Congregational Church in Gregory were officiated by Rev. J.A. Oderman and Rev. Victor Schuldt, both of Sioux City, assisted by Rev. Hugo Flaig of Gregory.
