WAUKEE - A memorial service for Viola Neubauer, 65, of Waukee was held Oct. 10, 1994 at the Waukee Christian Church in Waukee with burial at Waukee Cemetery. Mrs. Neubauer died of cancer Oct. 7 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
The daughter of Rufus and Ruth Steffen, she was born Aug. 26, 1929 in Hancock County. She married Joe Neubauer Jan. 11, 1949 at Waukee. Mrs. Neubauer was a lifelong resident of Waukee and administrative secretary for the city of West Des Moines. She was active at Waukee Christian Church and the Christian Women's Fellowship.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Sherril Steffen; and two sisters, Irene Larson and Blanche Hefley.
Mrs. Neubauer is survived by a son, Joseph of Grimes; a sister, Esther Brock of Renwick; two brothers, Warren Steffen of Des Moines and Robert Steffen of Apple Valley, Minn.; and two grandchildren.
