Mrs. Mary Burgardt, 83, died this morning in a local nursing home. She formerly lived at 1012 N. Madison.
She was born Dec. 4, 1888 in Hartsoff [Herzog], Russia and came to the country when she was 3 years old.
She spent her early life in Victoria and came here 27 years ago from Illinois. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and its Altar Society.
Her husband, Jacob, died Jan. 22, 1951.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Marie Gartner and Miss Barbara Burgardt, both of 1012 Madison; five sons, Albert Burgardt, 2419 Ohio, Jacob Burgardt, 2534 W. 10th, John Burgardt and Joseph Burgardt, both of Aurora, Ill, and George Burgardt, address unknown; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Heffner and Miss Barbara Von Feldt, both of 526 Sardou; 32 grandchildren, and 50 great-grandchildren.
Services are pending at Brennan Funeral Home.
