John A. Michalik

Requiem mass for John A. Michalik will be held at St. Anthony's Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 21, with Rev. Michael Harrold officiating. Interment will be in the Catholic Cemetery in Blessing.

Rosary was recited at the Palacios Funeral Home Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. by members of the K.J.Z.T. at 8:30 p.m. by the Knights of Columbus and at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Born June 3, 1900 in Czechoslovakia, a son of the late Martin and Eva Hanzal Michalik, he had been a resident of this area for 39 years. He was a farmer and a retired employee of Alcoa's Point Comfort Operations. He died Monday morning, December 18, in Wagner General Hospital.

He is survived by his wife, Aurelia Michalik of Palacios, four daughters, Mrs. Dorothy George of Beaumont, Mrs. Agnes Winans of Channelview, Mrs. Janie Tedder of Bay City and Mrs. Lucille Bargerstock of Shelby, Ohio; seven sons, John L. of Santiago, Chili, Paul J. of Port Lavaca, Edward L. of Pasadena, Raymond E. of Brazoria, Charlie W. and Jimmy T. of Palacios and Frank J. of El Maton; one sister, Eva David of Cameron and 23 grandchildren.
