Adam Degand, 68, of 524 East Sardou, died Friday in a Topeka hospital.
He was born April 24, 1891 at Salina and had lived in Topeka 60 years.
He was a boiler fireman at the Santa Fe Hospital until he retired four years ago. He was a veteran of World War I, and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Catherine Degand, of the home; six brothers, Peter Degand of Chicago; George Degand, 529 East Fairchild; John Degand, 1101 North Madison; Casper Degand of Chicago; Jake Degand, 516 East Paramore; and Mike Degand, 510 East Gordon; a sister, Mrs. Catherine Navarre, 301 Burgess.
Services will be at 8 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Parish Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at Park Mortuary.
