Casper M. Degand, 75, 1028 N. Quincy, died Saturday, July 9 at Topeka hospital.
He was born Aug. 3, 1907 at Sterling, Colo., the son of John and Catherine Hefner Degand.
Mr. Degand was employed by Shawnee County before he retired. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
His wife, Mrs. Katherine E. Degand survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Rosemary Bruce, Florence, Miss., and Mrs. Betty Bach, Topeka; a son, Albert Degand, St. Louis; a sister, Mrs. Katie Navarre, Topeka; three brothers, John Degand, Lawrence, Jake Degand and Mike Degand, both of Topeka; eight grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends will meet from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Parker-Price Mortuary where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
