At noon last Saturday the word went forth that the messenger of death had entered the home of Peter Larson of Victoria township and called away the suffering... She had been very ill for several weeks and for a few days had been sinking gradually but surely, so that it was... ...she must release her hold upon life and go to the world beyond. She had for years been a sufferer... ...disease and gradually her strength waned until on Friday it became certain that the end was but a few hours distant. ...faraway who were not at home were notified and reached her bedside... ...to hear her last words spoken. She retained... ...and died with full knowledge of her... ...approaching end, leaving a husband and... ...for her.

The funeral was held at the home at noon on Monday and was attended by a large company... ...friends. The remains were buried in Victoria cemetery. Rev. T. S.... of Bridgewater spoke the funeral address.

...[Mrs.] Larson was a native of Norway where she was born July 28, 1845. The greater part of her life, however, has been spent... and for many years her home has been the same where in she died. She was a noble woman devoted to her home and family and the best evidence of her goodness is the family of God-fearing sons and daughters who, with the help of her husband, she has reared to model citizenship. She was a faithful Christian and a member of the local Church of Christ.

The united sympathies of a community of friends is extended to the sorrowing husband and children.

Anna Marie "Mary" Anderson was born in Norway. She married Peter Larson, also of Norway, while they were residents of La Salle County, Illinois in 1869. Peter farmed and the couple had nine children: Lewis, Andrew, and Julia, born in Illinois; and Matilda, Mary, Clara, Katie, Emma and Nettie born in Iowa.

In 1874 they moved to Adams County, Iowa and later they moved to Cass County, Iowa. In 1881 they bought a farm in Victoria Township, just southwest of Massena. Anna Marie died in 1902.
