GARDEN CITY - Jake W. Burgardt, 60, died (21 Oct 1981) Wednesday at St. Catherine Hospital, Garden City after a short illness. Born Dec. 17. 1920, at Holcomb, he married Adeline Knoll June 20, 1946, at Garden City.

He was a farmer and a lifetime resident of the Garden City area. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, VFW, Eagles Lodge, all of Garden City and was a World War II Air Force veteran.

Survivors: widow, of the home; Sons, Jerry, Tim, both of Lamar, Colo.; Steve, Deerfield; Dennis, Holcomb: daughters, Mary Ann Vannaman, Evanna Brungardt, both of Garden City; brothers, John, New Iberia, La.; Clarence, Holcomb; Pete, Garden City; George, Arvada, Cola.; Joe, Garden City; sisters, Anna Dreiling, Mary Baier, Rose Knoll, Sister Virginia, Helen Uhrich, all of Garden City; 17 grandchildren.

Parish Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Knights of Columbus Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday and the Daughters of Isabella Rosary will be at 8 p.m. Friday, all at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Garden City. Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church; Father David Dougherty. Burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Garden City with military graveside rites. Friends may call until 6 p.m. Friday at the Garnand Funeral Chapel, Garden City.
