He was born Aug. 13, 1930, in Holcomb, to John and Barbara Kippes Burgardt.
After serving in the U.S. Army, Mr. Burgardt returned to Finney County, where he was a lifelong farmer. He had resided in Garden City since 1962.
Survivors include a brother, Clarence Burgardt of The Villages, Fla.; and two sisters, Rosie Knoll of Garden City, and Sister Virginia Burgardt of Great Bend. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, John Jr., Andrew, Jake, Pete and George; and four sisters, Mary Baier, Anna Dreiling, Sister Dorothy Burgardt and Helen Uhrich.
Vigil service was at St. Dominic Catholic Church, Garden City. Funeral Mass was at the church. Burial was at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Garden City.
