Peter "Pete" John Bellendir, 84, of Brush, formerly of Sterling, passed away Dec. 6, 2008, in Brush.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, at Tennant Funeral Chapel with Vigil and Rosary to follow. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon Friday, Dec. 12, at St. Anthony Catholic Church with the Rev. Robert L. Wedow officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery.
Pete was born March 10, 1924, to Alex and Susan (Monheiser) Bellendir in Sterling. He attended Iliff schools.
On Jan. 6, 1948, Peter married Pauline Mari in Sterling. They were married for 36 years.
Pete enlisted in the U.S. Navy during World War II, serving on the carrier San Jacinto. He farmed and worked as a mechanic and area supervisor for British American and Gulf Oil Corporations.
He was a member of the Elks Lodge and loved to bowl, golf and coach Little League baseball.
Mr. Bellendir is survived by his daughters, Paula Livingston and husband Stan of Brighton and Debbie Hess and husband Fred of Granby; son, Tim Bellendir and wife Marva of Fort Morgan; sisters, Anna Fowler and Catherine Bellendir; brothers, Alex Bellendir, Joe Bellendir, Lawrence Bellendir and Robert Bellendir; grandchildren, Jason and Austin Livingston, Tim and Adrienne Bellendir, Amy Bellendir and Derek Hess; great-grandchildren, Timmy Bellendir III and Tyler Bellendir; and special friend Velda Littler.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Bellendir; parents, Alex and Susan; sister, Mary Loos; brothers, Anthony Bellendir, John Bellendir, Jake Bellendir, Andrew Bellendir, George Bellendir, Adam Bellendir, Steve Bellendir and Phillip Bellendir.
The family requests that memorials be made to a family in need that you know of or a charity of your choice.
