Lawrence "Larry" F. Bellendir, 69, of Sterling, was called home to Jesus Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, in Sterling. Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, at Tennant Funeral Home with Vigil and Rosary Service to follow at 6 p.m. Mass of Chri Burial will be at 9 am. Thursday, Nov. 19, at St. Anthony Catholic Church with the Rev. Robert L. Wedow celebrating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
Larry was born on Jan. 6, 1940, in Iliff to Alex and Susan (Monheiser) Bellendir. He attended Iliff schools, graduating in 1959.
He farmed and ranched and then was a residential contractor.
He married Bette Huey on Aug. 27, 1960 at St. Anthony Catholic Church.
He received the softball sportsmanship award and enjoyed stamp collecting, fishing, fly tying, and camping. He also enjoyed doing things with his grandchildren, making his famous barbeque chicken, and woodworking.
Larry is survived by his wife, Bette; son, Larry Bellendir and wife Vicki; daughters, Debbie Burkholder and husband Kenton and Sandi Foos; grand-
children, Kendall Burkholder, Kendra Burkholder, Megan States and husband Brett; great-grandchildren, Gage Burkholder, Kaydence States; brothers, Alex of Mason City, Iowa, Joe, Robert and wife MaryAnn, all of Sterling; sisters, Catherine Bellendir of Sterling and Anna Fowler of Parker; numerous nephews and nieces; special friends and nurses, Ann Kuhns, Pat Hettinger, Shalla Campbell, Kathy Kaufman and Francy Simants.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Susan; brothers, Tony, John, lake, Peter, Andrew, George, Adam, Steve, Phillip; and sister, Mary Loos.
