Andrew Jacob Bellendir, 71, of Iliff, died Sunday, Aug. 31, 1997 in Sterling.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Tennant Funeral Home on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 1997. Vigil and Rosary will be Wednesday, Sept. 3, 1997 at 7 p.m. at Tennant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Catherines Catholic Church in Iliff on Thursday, Sept. 4, 1997 at 10a.m.. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling. Memorials can be made for masses.
Mr. Bellendir was born in Sterling on Feb. 4, 1926 to Alexander Philip and Susan (Monheiser) Bellendir. He grew up in the Sterling and Iliff areas, and attended school in Iliff.
He entered the Navy in World War II, serving from
1944-46. He married Annie Zink on Jan. 10, 1949 at St. Catherines in Iliff. They farmed for two years with his father. He also worked for 34 years at Stickney's. Then he worked for five years at H&S until 1991.
Mr. Bellendir enjoyed gar dening and woodworking. He was also a former Lions Club member and was active in the
Scouts. He was a member of St. Catherines and the V.F.W.
He is survived by his wife Annie of Iliff; seven sons,
Andrew Bellendir and wife Kathy of Gilcrest, Cob.; Jim
Bellendir and wife Lori of Greeley; Ken Bellendir and
wife Marlene of Brush; Dan Bellendir of Kihei, Hawaii;
Rick Bellendir of Greebey; Tom Bellendir and wife Suzie of
Greeley; Jerry Bellendir and wife Jackie of Greeley; daughter, Sherri Bellendir and Dan Szabo of Boulder; brothers and sisters, Anthony Bellendir of Sterling; Alex Bellendir of Mason City, Iowa; Peter Bellendir of Sterling; Catherine Bellendir of Sterling; Anna Fowler of Denver; Adam Bellendir of Garden City,Kans.; Steve Bellendir of Denver; Joe Bellendir of Denver; Philip Bellendir of Sterling; Lawrence Bellendir of Sterling; Robert Bellendir of Sterling; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Jake, and George; sister, Mary Loos; and granddaughter, Lindsey.
