He never voluntarily talked about his service experience, but when once asked what he did he said he was in the Pacific and drove and LST landing craft. He had a short employment in Waukegan , Il. and then went to Minneapolis and had a career with UNIVAC in the maintenance Dept. He married Dorothy Morris in 1951. They raised three children, two girls and one boy.
they attended and were active in church. They enjoyed long camping trips and later he purchased a Lake cottage. He enjoyed caring for it and sharing it with family and friends.
He kept the Koester family close by hosting gatherings and communicating
He is survived by his dear wife, Dorothy, Daughters, Barbara(Duane) Hiltner, June(Don)Hiltner and Son Lenny(Barbara) Brothers Laurice, Roland, Virgil(Betty) and Harold(Charllote) Sisters Lorraine(Gayland) Halter and Lila. Five Grandchildren and many cousins.
