Mr. Newton was a trustee of the Victoria Health Club, a past president of the Victoria's Horseman's Club, and a member of the Traveler Protective Association of America.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm on Thursday at Taylor Brothers Chapel in Bay City. Graveside rites will be help by Victoria Elks Lodge at Cedarvale Center in Bay City.
Survivors include: His wife, Jane of Victoria; four brothers, Lloyd of Edna, Ottis of Alice, Harvey of Bay City and Melvin of Jordan City, Michigan; and four sisters, Mrs. W. E. (Ethel) Milstead and Mrs. Walter (Peggy) Frisbie, both of Bay City, Mrs. H.M. (Esther) Miller of Dallas and Mrs. L. E. (Eula) Harvill of Odessa.
