Funeral services for Jesse Lloyd Newton, 73, of Star Route, Edna, will be held at 3 p m Sunday from the Jackson County Funeral Chapel, with the Rev Joe Frederick officiating. Burial will be in the Edna
Cemetery under direction of Jackson County Funeral Service Nephews will be pallbearers.
Mr. Newton was born August 14, 1900 in Mt Pleasant, Texas and was a retired oil field employee. He died Friday, January 25, 1974 in an El Campo hospital.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Newton of Edna, four sisters, Mrs. Ethel Milstead and Mrs. Peggy Mayhew of Bay City, Mrs. Esther Miller of Dallas and Mrs. Eula Harvill of Iowa Park. and three brothers, Otis of Kingsville, Harvey "Smokey" of Pelsa, Ark and Melvin "Tony" of Ras Tanura, Saudi Arabia.
