Albina Dreiling:
Hays - Alvina Dreiling, 86, died Sunday, Oct. 22, at St. John's Nursing Home, Hays. Born March 30, 1903, at Gorham, she was the daughter of George and Katherine (Mermis) Jacobs. She married Lee J. Dreiling on Oct. 29, 1924.
Mrs. Dreiling was a homemaker, a member of the St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Catherine and the Daughters of Isabella in Victoria. She and Mr. Dreiling were well known for philanthropic gestures to many charitable organizations.
Survivors are: a son, John, of Hays; four daughters, Anita Feltis, Irene Kippes and Lillian Schumacher, all of Victoria, and Shirley Gross of Hays; a brother, Leo Jacobs, Gorham; four sisters, Mary Isaacson, Salina, Florence Yost, Blance Herl and Georgina Jacobs, all of Gorham; 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, Leo, Jr., and Tommy, three brothers and a sister.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria, and Bishop George R. Fitzsimmons officiating; burial in St. Fidelis Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 9 p.. today, and from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Brock's North Hill Chapel, Hays. Parish wake will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday with a Victoria Daughters of Isabella rosary at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
