Cora E. Horst Myers Knepper, age 80 formerly of Chambersburg, PA died at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, October 21, 2010 in the nursing center of Menno-Haven, Chambersburg, PA.

Born, July 10, 1930 in Clear Spring, MD, she was the daughter of the late Henry S. and Grace Mae Eshleman Horst.

Her first husband, Melvin G. Myers died January 17, 1975 and her second husband, John A. Knepper died May 6, 1994.

She was a member of the Montgomery Brethren In Christ Church, Mercersburg where she was a Sunday School teacher, a member of the sewing circle and kitchen committee. Cora enjoyed knitting, sewing and traveling.

Cora retired from the former Stanley Company, Chambersburg and later worked at the Butcher Shoppe, Chambersburg.

Surviving family are daughter, Gladys (husband Paul) Besecker of Marion, PA; sons, Nelson R. (wife Cindy) Myers of Chambersburg, PA and Harold L. (fiancée Sharon Shaw) Myers of Fort Loudon, PA; step sons, Ray Knepper and Carl Knepper of Ohio; step daughter, Atha Lebo of Mechanicsburg, PA; sisters, Edna Naylor of Smithsburg, MD and Dorothy Miller of Wyoming; brothers, Joseph Horst of Homestead, MD, John L. Horst of Hagerstown, MD and Charles Horst of Georgia; five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and several step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Dan, Paul and George and four sisters, Margaret, Anna, Ida and Mildred.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 25, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. from the Montgomery Brethren In Christ Church, 6727 Montgomery Church Road, Mercersburg, PA with Rev. Dennis Ritchey officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home, 45 South Carlisle Street, Greencastle, PA and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Montgomery Brethren In Christ Church Building Fund, 6727 Montgomery Church Road, Mercersburg, PA 17236.
