Francis Wilberding Passes Away at Home

Francis Wilberding, 75, of Marcus, died suddenly Saturday, June 19, at his home.

Mr. Wilberding was born Jan. 26, 1907, in Remsen. He married Marie Knott Feb. 18, 1930. She died July 14, 1967.

He married Phyllis Goodrich July 10,1968, in Marcus.

He was a DeKalb seed dealer for many years. He was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church. Mr. Wilberding was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Marie, two daughters, Joan and Sharon, grandson Randy Hueser, two sisters and three brothers.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Don (Babe) Kolker of Le Mars and Miss Sandra of Omaha, Neb. one step-daughter, Mrs. James (Shirley) Wilcox of Cleghorn; one brother, Tony of Waco, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Ida Delperding of Aurelia, Mrs. Clara Clark of Cherokee and Mrs. Olivia Baack of Le Mars; 13 grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.

Services for Mr. Wilberding were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 21, in Holy Name Catholic Church with Monsignor Leonard Ziegmann officiating. Burial was in the St. Mary Cemetery in Remsen. The rosary was recited Sunday at 7:30 p.m. and a prayer service was held at 8 p.m. in the Roethler Funeral Home at Marcus.

Casket bearers were Bob Ames, Bob Hagey, Bob Specht, Bud Snyder, Delbert Drefke and Frank Peppersack. Car driver was Delmer Drefke. Roethler Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
