Peter Nelius Gilbertson, age 71, died Wednesday, Dec 26, 1961 at his home after a accidental fall down the stairs. He was born to Gustav T. Gilbertson and Addie (Benson) Gilbertson. He married Ida Katinka Muller on Dec 29, 1912. Peter was confirmed on Apr 9, 1905. On September 8, 1910, Peter left for Peoria, Illinois to study watch making. He then moved to Preston in 1911 and opened a jewelry store which he operated until 1923 when he sold the business and opened Gilbertson's Men's Clothing Store in Preston, Mn., which he was still operating at the time of his death. Peter and his wife had no children. Survivors include: four brothers, Clarence, Gerhard, Henry, Oscar; one sister, Anna. Preceded in death by his wife; two brothers, Willie in 1918 and Timan in 1950. Funeral services were held Saturday, December 30, 1961 at Christ Lutheran Church, Preston, Mn. with Pastor Obed J. Nesheim officiating and was laid to rest next to his late wife in the Spring Grove Cemetery.
