Johann Heinrich Friedrich Klug born 25 Sep 1858 in Visselhöede, Hanover, Germany to parents Hinrich Klug and Catharina Scheele. He immigrated aboard ship Manhattan at the age of 14 by himself arriving 7 Jun 1873 in New York City. Other siblings arrived to New York separately and in 1874 his parents and the 3 youngest siblings arrived. They made their way to Sherman Twp, Huron County, Michigan and began a life of farming.

"Fred" Klug married Sarah Louise Cowper 07 Jul 1892 in Harbor Beach Michigan. They had children Loretta May Klug (Adler) (1893-1977), Anna Louise Klug (Krantz) (1894-1953), and William Frederick Klug (1897-1962) who married Ethel McGraw.

Fred Klug died in Sep 1962 in Huron County, Michigan
