WILLIAM SCHNABEL DEAD
Secretary Number Four Fire Company Dies of Heart Trouble
William Schnabel, 69, Jefferson circuit court bailiff several years, died at 10:55 o'clock last night at his home, 611 Walnut street, of a heart ailment from which he had suffered for several years. He had been seriously ill but a few days.
Mr. Schnabel was born in Madison and had spent his entire life in this city, For many years he was employed as a saddletree maker, having operated the former Saddletree factory for several years.
He later served as deputy sheriff under John Hutchinson and in recent years he had been the Jefferson circuit court bailiff. Mr. Schnabel was secretary of Number Four Fire Company and the Odd Fellows lodge, and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church.
Surviving besides his wife, are seven children, Mrs. Alice Adams, living near Manville; William, at Hackettstown, N.Y.; Nathan, at home; Raymond, city; Gilbert, at Boonton, N.J.; Benjamin, of this city; and Mrs. Bernice McKay, of this city. A son, Charles, died six years ago.
He leaves also three sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Clara Shober, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Mrs. Elizabeth Ashley and Mrs. Dorothy Bailey, of Indianapolis; Henry and Charles Schnabel, of this city, and Fred, of Cleveland, Ohio.
Friends may call at the Schnabel residence after tomorrow morning.

SERVE AS PALLBEARERS
Last Rites for Former Court Bailiff Held Yesterday Afternoon
Funeral services for William Schnabel, former court bailiff, who died at his home on Walnut street, were conducted by Rev. H.A. Kunkle, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran church, yesterday at 2:30 p.m. at Gans funeral home. Burial was in Springdale cemetery and the pal-bearers were William, Nathan, Raymond, gilbert and Ben Schnabel, and Earl Adams.
Attending the services from out-of-town were Mr. and Mrs. George Bailey, Verne Ashley, Minnie Schnabel, Mr. and Mrs. Carol Schnabel and Robert Schnabel, of Indianapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Shober, Mrs. Clara Shober, Mr. and Mrs. O. M. Adams, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Adams, and Miss Alberta Adams, of Cincinnati.
