Frederick E Fricke, 87, a lifelong and well known resident of this community, passed away Friday evening, September 1, at his farm home northeast of State Center. Mr Fricke was born and reared on this farm.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon from St John's Lutheran Church with the Rev M J Haerther, officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Mr Fricke was born April 15, 1874 near State Center, the son of Christine and Carolyn Fricke. He was educated in the rural schools of the area where he grew up. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Wolken on August 26, 1900 at Dillon.

Mr and Mrs Fricke observed their 61st wedding anniversary on August 26.

In addition to his widow he is survived by twelve children, 43 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and two brothers. The children are: Mrs William Henze, Mrs Harley Schuler, Mrs Ida Frohwein and Elmer Fricke, all of State Center; Mrs Ervin Eggers and Mrs Ernest Nehring, Colo; Mrs John Jacob, Melbourne; Mrs A C Sawyer, Marshalltown; L L Fricke, Pensecola, Florida; Hiram Fricke, Tama; Fred Fricke Jr, Baxter and Kenneth Fricke, Jacksonville, Florida. The brothers are Ernest Fricke of Kandiyohi, Minnesota and Edward Fricke of Marshalltown.

Pallbearers were Carl Jacob, John Fricke, Wayne Schuler, Vernon Eggers, Raymond Frohwein and Richard Fricke. Flower bearers were Mary Jo Henze, Gene Henze, Kathryn Fricke and Minnie Nehring.
