Mrs Sawyer died Wednesday morning, February 18 at the State Center Manor, where she had been a patient since last May.
Mrs Sawyer was born on August 26, 1904 to Fred and Elizabeth Wolken Fricke. She was educated in Marshall county schools and confirmed at St John's Lutheran Church, State Center.
In April 1928 she married Cecil Sawyer and they lived in Marshalltown. For a number of years she worked at the E R Lay Store and Spurgeon's.
Mrs Sawyer was preceded in death by her husband and a brother.
Surviving are five brothers and six sisters; Frederick Fricke of Baxter, Hiram Fricke of Tama, Elmer Fricke of Marshalltown, Lee Fricke of Pensacola, Florida, Kenneth Fricke of Jacksonville, Florida, Mrs John (Renatta) Jacob of Melbourne, Mrs Harley (Phoebe) Schuler, Mrs Cleve (Inez) Badger and Mrs Ida Frohwein, all of State Center and Mrs Irvin (Marie) Eggers and Mrs Ernest (Laura) Nehring of Colo. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law; Mrs R H (Verta) Vandercook of Marshalltown and Mrs Marie Clay of Gilman, as well as several nephews and nieces.
Burial was in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Raymond Frohwein, Wayne Schuler, Marion Nehring, Michael Fricke, Dale Fricke and Steven Fricke.
